There are few things I love more than a table filled with good food and good people. Especially in the fall, when the days grow shorter and the evenings invite us to linger a little longer, there is something so special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal and enjoying the simple pleasure of being together.
But as much as I love hosting, I know that putting together a dinner can sometimes feel like a lot of work. What should I make? Will the recipes go well together? Do I need an appetizer? What about dessert? Before long, the joy of having people over can get buried deep beneath a long grocery list and a complicated plan.
So, consider this your invitation to make it easier.
I’ve put together three complete fall dinner menus for you, each with a mocktail, appetizer, salad, side, main dish and dessert. They’re filled with cozy seasonal flavors and wholesome ingredients, but I’ve intentionally chosen recipes that feel approachable rather than fussy. Whether you’re craving a classic Thanksgiving-inspired feast, something a little more fresh and festive, or a simple dinner you can pull together without turning your kitchen upside down, there’s a menu here for you.
All that’s left to do is choose your favorite, gather the ingredients and invite some people you love to the table.

Cozy & Classic Fall Dinner Menu
Warm and nostalgic, this Cozy & Classic Fall Dinner Menu has all the familiarity of a quintessential Thanksgiving dinner, without the stress of orchestrating a 12-person turkey dinner. From candied pecans atop a creamy baked brie, to mouth-watering homemade apple stuffing, to juicy herb & butter roasted turkey and decadent pumpkin swirl cheesecake, this menu is filled with recognizable flavors of the season that invite us to slow down and embrace the joys of gathering around the table with those we love.
Spicy Pumpkin Smash Mocktail
We are kicking this cozy and classic fall dinner menu off with this Spicy Bourbon Pumpkin Smash, a sparkly mocktail perfect for the season. The base of this mocktail is a homemade spiced pumpkin syrup is prepared with simple ingredients like maple syrup, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice and vanilla extract. Simply omit the bourbon and use an additional tablespoon of orange juice, apple cider and some vanilla extract to make an overall refreshing and festive mocktail.
Baked Brie with Dried Cranberries & Candied Pecans
Growing up, a memorable part of Thanksgiving dinner was the canned cranberry sauce, elegantly presented by simply emptying the can of sauce into a serving dish, leaving the cranberry sauce molded to the shape of the can intact. Whether or not you can relate to this odd tradition, this Baked Brie is sure to bring back a certain nostalgia, with its dried cranberries, candied pecans, fig jam and fresh thyme leaves all atop a creamy wheel of French-style brie cheese. Serve with crackers and sliced apples.
Loaded Brussels Sprouts Salad
Filled with sautéed Brussels sprouts, crisp apples, zingy red onions and a creamy, maple mustard dressing topped with a mouth-watering smoky pecan crumble, this Loaded Brussels Sprouts Salad has all the best flavors of the season, making it the perfect side for this cozy, classic fall feast.
Apple Sage Stuffing
A classic staple of Thanksgiving and fall dinners alike is stuffing, but if I’m being honest, most of the time I give it a hard pass. Something about soggy bread just doesn’t quite sound that appetizing. That being said, this Simple Apple Sage Stuffing recipe has completely changed my mind. Made from crusty bread, apple, and herbs along with other wholesome ingredients, this stuffing is packed with flavor and is truly the perfect accompaniment to any fall-inspired dinner.
Herb & Butter Roasted Turkey
Another quintessential part of many fall festivities is turkey, but for many people (including me!) cooking a whole turkey can be intimidating. That’s why for this cozy and classic dinner menu, we are keeping it super simple with this Herb & Butter Roasted Turkey. The turkey is first cut into pieces and then roasted in a pan with herbed butter and fresh veggies. And let’s not forget about the delicious, herby gravy to top it all off. The result is a turkey that is incredibly moist, flavorful and just about effortless.
Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake
No classic fall dinner would be complete without a pumpkin cheesecake to finish things off and this Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake does the trick! Made with a gingersnap cookie crust, a pumpkin swirled filling, fresh whipped cream and a homemade salted caramel sauce, this pumpkin swirl cheesecake will be the highlight of any cozy and classic dinner this fall.
Fresh & Festive Fall Dinner Menu
Looking for a menu option that feels elevated and elegant, without the pressure of complicated cooking techniques? This Fresh & Festive Fall Dinner Menu is for you! From a fresh and festive cranberry thyme spritz, to a silky sweet potato casserole, to an apple and onion braised pork tenderloin and a spiced pear galette, this menu features an array of seasonal flavors, beautiful produce and creative combinations. These recipes are an excellent way to add a little something extra to gatherings of any kind this fall.
Cranberry Thyme Spritz
Fresh and festive, this Cranberry Thyme Spritz is truly the perfect mocktail to serve alongside any autumn-inspired gathering. Simply swap out the alcohol for an extra splash of ginger beer (or pomegranate juice could work well here too) for a refreshing mocktail that everyone can enjoy. The secret is the homemade simple syrup, made from honey, fresh cranberries, thyme, and ginger, which give the traditional flavors of this drink an unexpected, but delightful twist.
Butternut Squash Crostini with Goat Cheese & Fig Glaze
There is something truly satisfying about a delicious, yet beautifully-presented appetizer, and these Butternut Squash Crostini with Goat Cheese & Fig Glaze are truly the best of both worlds. Think crispy crostini topped with creamy goat cheese, roasted butternut squash and a fig vinaigrette glaze—a mouth-watering combination of flavors that will have everyone coming back for more.
Autumn Harvest Honeycrisp Apple & Feta Salad
While everyone may be tempted to just enjoy a plate full of crostini for dinner, this Autumn Harvest Honeycrisp Apple and Feta Salad is one you will not want to miss. Made with peppery arugula, sweet honeycrisp apples, creamy avocado and feta, and juicy pomegranate seeds and then topped with a homemade apple vinaigrette, this salad is both produce-forward and packed with the best flavors of the season. And did I mention the toasted prosciutto or the maple-glazed pecans and pumpkin seeds? Enough said.
Sweet Potato Casserole with Apples & Crunchy Rosemary Walnuts
One of my favorite autumn-inspired dishes of all time is this Sweet Potato Casserole with Apples & Crunch Rosemary Walnuts. Instead of a traditional marshmallow topping, the sweet potatoes are pulsed with orange juice, coconut milk, and warm spices, creating an incredibly flavorful base. The sweet potatoes are then topped with sauteed apples and crunchy rosemary walnuts before baking, adding a decadent twist to this well-loved dish.
Apple & Onion Braised Pork Tenderloin
For the main dish, I wanted to find an entrée that felt a bit more elevated than a traditional turkey or baked ham, yet still effortless. That’s when I came across this Apple & Onion Braised Pork Tenderloin, prepared with wholesome, seasonal ingredients and ready to eat in less than an hour. The tenderloin is first seared in a skillet and then braised in stock and apple juice alongside sauteed apples and onions, making it wonderfully juicy and flavorful.
Cranberry Pear Galette
Looking for a dessert that feels elegant without the added effort of other traditional fall-inspired desserts? Look no further than this Cranberry Pear Galette. This rustic galette is beautifully presented, but incredibly easy to make because it doesn’t require the precision of a traditional pie. Serve with lightly sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added decadence.
Simple & Satisfying Fall Dinner Menu
Simple and easily adaptable, this Simple & Satisfying Fall Dinner Menu is a perfect option when you’d love to have people over, but don’t want hosting to become a production. From creamy whipped goat cheese, to timeless green beans almondine, to herby and buttery sheet pan roasted chicken and apple cranberry crisp, this menu pairs easy-to-make dishes with the best flavors of the season to create a dining experience that everyone can look forward to—host and guests alike.
Harvest Apple Ginger Spritz
When I think of fall, one of the flavors I think of the most is apple everything, so it was only fitting to start this simple and satisfying fall dinner menu off with this Harvest Apple Ginger Spritz. All the ingredients can be mixed together for a pitcher-style mocktail that will make your gathering a breeze. I typically substitute in club soda for a non-alcoholic variation and use a dash more lemon juice to help balance the flavors, resulting in a mocktail that feels festive without the fuss.
Cranberry Whipped Goat Cheese Dip
For the appetizer, we are going to keep things nice and easy with this Cranberry Whipped Goat Cheese Dip, but don’t let the simplicity of this recipe fool you. It is darn delicious and will definitely be a highlight of your fall-inspired feast. Serve with toasted baguette slices, crackers, vegetables or even apple slices.
Panzanella Salad
One of my favorite salads to make this time of year is this Thanksgiving Panzanella Salad. Roasted sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and chickpeas fill this salad with all the best flavors of fall. It is also incredibly flexible and can be made with pumpkin or butternut squash in place of the sweet potatoes. Complete with crisp cubes of fresh sourdough bread, a comforting balsamic-based dressing, nourishing kale and tangy pomegranate seeds, this salad is fresh and filling, a wonderful complement to this simple and satisfying fall gathering.
Green Beans Almondine
Green beans are a side that is often overlooked because of their simplicity, but that’s exactly why I love them. If you are looking for a simple-to-make, yet classic and elevated side for your fall feast, you will definitely want to check out this Green Beans Almondine, complete with sautéed shallots, fresh garlic cloves, lemon zest and juice and, of course, sliced almonds.
Roasted Garlic Butter Chicken with Lemon Olive Dressing
An incredibly forgiving and flavorful dish I have come to appreciate more and more over the years is sheet pan roasted chicken and this Roasted Garlic Butter Chicken with Lemon Olive Dressing is as good as it gets. The chicken is first tossed with fresh herbs and then arranged with garlic, lemon and butter on a baking sheet for some of the most tender and mouth-watering chicken that will have you coming back for seconds. And let’s not forget about the dressing made from olives, fresh herbs and the roasted lemons and garlic—the perfect accompaniment to this incredibly tasty dish.
Cranberry Apple Crisp
When it comes to simple and satisfying fall-inspired desserts, there is no better option than this Cranberry Apple Crisp. Made with juicy apples, a spiced crumble topping and either fresh or frozen cranberries, this crisp is the perfect combination of sweetness and tartness, the ideal way to end any fall feast. It also requires minimal prep time and effort and even made ahead of time, if needed, making it a win-win for both host and guests alike.
Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, hosting a house full of friends for the holidays, or simply enjoying a weeknight meal with family, I hope these menu ideas inspire you to gather often, savor the season, and make the most of the simple moments shared around the table this fall.
